Welcome to African Nature e.V. !
Our association consists of members of the scientific community who are united in the goal to advocate for the preservation of African rainforests and its biodiversity , acknowledging the livelihoods of the indigenous population. We do this in through our committment to scientific research and research and management capacity building.
At the moment we are focusing on the protection of Gulf of Guinea forest, which is a unique forest block along the Cameroon-Nigeria border. This forest is one of the oldest in Africa, enormously rich in species and its forest resources are essential in forming the basis of the livelihoods of many people in the region. However, this ecosystem is currently threatened by deforestation and overexploitaion with direct consequences for the climate, biodiversity and human livelihoods.
